Tyng-Ruey Chuang

Tyng-Ruey Chuang is an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, located at No. 128, Academia Road, Section 2, Nankang, Taipei. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University (1987–1993), an M.S. in Computer Science from the same institution (1987–1990), and a B.S. in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University (1980–1984). His research interests span five areas: functional programming, programming languages and systems, XML and web technologies, open geospatial information processing, and the social implications of information technologies — spanning both technical foundations of computer science and the broader societal dimensions of technology development.
